The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has officially announced a review of its service fees, with the new pricing structure set to take effect from August 1, 2025. This fee adjustment comes after a comprehensive evaluation of current economic realities, operational costs, and feedback from stakeholders in Nigeria's corporate and legal sectors.

In a public notice released on June 17, 2025, the CAC explained that the fee revision supports the Commission’s transition to a more efficient, digital, and technology-driven registry.

🏛️ Why the Review?

According to the CAC:

“This decision follows the careful consideration of prevailing economic realities, rising operational costs, as well as engagement of critical stakeholders ahead of implementation. The revised fees are modest, competitive and align with our commitment to digitalised operations.”

The Commission emphasized that the update is part of its dedication to transparency, sustainability, and improved customer satisfaction in line with Nigeria’s evolving business environment.

📌 Implications for Businesses and Legal Practitioners

The new fee structure will significantly affect:

  • Company secretarial filings

  • Post-incorporation services

  • Startups and small businesses managing compliance

  • Corporate lawyers and chartered secretaries

  • NGOs and incorporated trustees filing routine updates

Professionals and stakeholders are advised to plan filings ahead of the implementation date to either benefit from current rates or properly budget for upcoming obligations.

🧾 Conclusion

This fee adjustment reflects the CAC’s shift toward a digitally efficient and self-sustaining regulatory system. While some fees have increased substantially—especially for public companies and major filings—the changes are in line with broader administrative modernization and service delivery improvements.
